What Treasure Coast Boat Insurance Actually Covers (and Doesn't)

6 min readΒ·Local BoatingInsuranceHurricane

We are not insurance agents β€” but we see what happens after named storms. Here's what we tell customers to look for in a Florida policy.

The big three

  1. Named-storm deductible (usually 5–10% of hull value β€” not the standard deductible)
  2. Agreed value vs. actual cash value (agreed pays out faster, costs slightly more)
  3. Haul-out coverage β€” does the policy pay to pull you before a storm?

If your policy requires a recent survey, we can refer surveyors we trust on the Treasure Coast.
