The Treasure Coast's inshore slam — snook, redfish, sea trout — fishes every month of the year if you know where they're staging. Here's the calendar and the local spots our customers fish.

Share

Snook

  • Open: Feb 1 – May 31 and Sept 1 – Dec 14 (Atlantic regs)
  • Slot: 28"–32" total length, 1 fish per person per day
  • Best months locally: April, May, October — pre/post spawn on the inlet beaches and lagoon mangroves
  • Top spots: Sebastian Inlet jetty, Fort Pierce inlet south jetty, mangrove points between Wabasso and Sebastian

Redfish

  • Open year-round, but Indian River Lagoon is currently CATCH-AND-RELEASE only — check FWC for the active rule
  • Best months: Sept–Nov (schools tail on flats north of Wabasso)
  • Top spots: oyster bars north of Sebastian River mouth, flats off Round Island, west shore between Vero and Wabasso

Sea Trout

  • Open year-round in IRL with 1-fish bag (check current FWC rule, this has changed)
  • Slot: 15"–19", one fish over 19" allowed in some seasons
  • Best months: Dec–March on grass flats in 2–4 ft
  • Top spots: grass flats off MacWilliam, north of the Barber Bridge, Pine Island flats
